Corrupt government from get-go?
Kiir reappointed Kuol Athian Mawien as Minister of Trade and Industry. Mawein was the Minister of Finance around 2010-201.1
He set up a corrupt and fake system for grain purchased in which more than 81 fake companies were given around 4 billion USD to supply dura grains.
The Dura saga as it became known cost 4 billion dollars and no grain was delivered. Nobody was prosecuted.
Ayaa Benjamin Warille, who was appointed Minister of Gender and Social Welfare, is the wife of late Aggrey Idri who was deported from Kenya and later died.
It is a government of Machar and Garang families and dubious allies of Kiir who are very corrupt, critics noted.
There is also fear that Kiir lost control of the petroleum industry which will give Machar a leeway to barter crude oil for weapons and overthrow him.
