Former Makerere University researcher Dr Stella Nyanzi has ruled out the possibility of massaging President Museveni vowing to hit him where it hurts the most.
She was Thursday receiving her Oxfam Novib/Pen International Freedom to Write Award 2020 from Uganda PEN Offices in Namuwongo, Kampala.
Nyanzi who has recently been acquitted after serving a 14 months conviction for cyber harassment, used her time in prison to pen down a book entitled ‘No Roses from my Mouth’ narrating her stay in Luzira Maximum Prison.
While picking the award, she told government to stop gagging writers.
“I’m a Ugandan. I was blessed to study literature. I continued and studied until I got a PhD,” she said.
“This award empowers me. I will not massage Museveni. He has the guns and all sorts of weapons. I’m also armed with words. I will write until there is freedom and justice.”
The woman of steel vowed to use her tongue and pen to clean up “the filth Museveni has imposed onto us”.
