President Museveni and his Rwandan counterpart have signed an extradition treaty that will govern the repatriation of suspects from both countries.
The extradition treaty was signed Friday at the Katuna/Gatuna border.
This is contained in the final communiqué of the 4th Quadripartite Summit between Heads of State and Government of the Republic of Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Uganda and the Republic of Rwanda.
The joint statement cites progress as far as efforts to resolve tensions are concerned.
Uganda recently released 13 Rwandan nationals who were detained in the country’s jail cells.
Rwanda reciprocated by releasing 3 Ugandans and terminating sentences of 17 others.
