Democratic Party Vice president Fred Mukasa Mbidde has been flown to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi for treatment.
His office said in a Monday statement that East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP was sustained head injuries during a fight at DP party headquarters on Friday.
Mbidde stormed a DP meeting on Balintuma Road in Mengo. Some members accused him of trespass.
DP youth then blocked his entry but fsecurity guards protected Mbidde and locked him in the washroom.
The youth hit the window with a big stone, forcing it open.
The stone hit Mbidde on the forehead, severely injuring him.
“EALA Commissioner Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbidde has been flown to Nairobi- Kenya for a Comprehensive Medical check-up after sustaining injuries on his head,” the statement said.
It added: “Hon. Mbidde was stoned by detractors who were hired by party rebels to sabotage the Democratic Party National Executive Committee Meeting.”
He was flown out of the country on Sunday amid fears of a skull fracture and after being recommended for a “Computed Tomography” in Nairobi.
