A requiem mass for fallen Centenary bank Executive Director, Dr. Simon Kagugube, was held Monday at Ntinda St. Charles Lwanga.
The mass was attended by Board of Directors, Management and Staff of Centenary Bank as well as family and well-wishers.
Dr. Kagugube was hailed for playing a key role in the growth, direction and expansion of centenary bank and was a remarkable leader in helping it achieve its mission.
“Dr. Simon Kagugube has left behind a legacy as a great leader, we will always remember him as someone who was intentional in building relationships in the community,” Centenary bank Managing Director, Mr. Fabian Kasi said.
Speaking during the requiem mass, Kasi said: “We are saddened by the loss of Dr. Simon Kagugube, he was a colleague and we are very grateful for his contribution to our bank”.
The bishop of Kasana – Luwero Diocese, Bishop Paul Semwogerere who led the mass called upon mourners to learn to be prepared for death because it is a fact of life.
He described death as a journey every human being must undertake.
Dr Kagugube died on Saturday and will be buried on Tuesday at Mawagga, Mityana District.
He was Centenary Bank executive director, chairman Board of Directors at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and Monitor Publications Limited.
