People Power leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine Thursday joined the family of Mr. Kafureeka for the send-off of Mrs. Jova Kafureeka, mother to Hon. Gerald Karuhanga in Itojo Ntugamo district.
Just like many Ugandans who die every day due to poor health services, Maama Jova succumbed to Cancer, he said.
According to Bobi Wine, Jova got to learn of her illness a bit late because she could not access a health facility for a mere check-up since the country’s health services do not provide for that.
She was taken to India and Germany for tests which if Uganda had a functional facility, would be accessed here.
“Building such a facility would cost about 7bn shillings, an amount that is not so much to raise by our government,” he noted.
“Fellow Mourners unanimously agreed that our health system is a diseased institution and without an overhaul, we are destined to die in an indignifying manner.”
He added: “We condole with Hon Hon Karuhanga, his siblings and the entire family, May Maama’s soul rest in peace.”
Meanwhile, Bobi Wine and his wife took off Friday to celebrate Valentines Day like the rest of the lovers out there.
“Happy valentine’s day Barbie,” he said in a short social media message.
“Thank you for always standing by me, for loving me and for teaching me to love unselfishly.”
He added: “With you I can face anything. Happy valentine’s day my love.”
