The NRM chairperson for Kayunga District, Moses Karangwa, is in trouble after guards belonging to his private security company attacked residents of Kanyogoga parish, killing one and injuring others.
The incident happened in Butorogo Sub-County in Mubende District.
Vincent Karemera, a farmer aged 33, succumbed to injuries after the attack by guards from Star React Security Limited, reported NilePost.
The guards identified as Khalid Bikongolo, a one Elia and Kanyamuhare who work for Karangwa’s company attacked Karemera.
He was first rushed to Kifumbira Health Centre for medical attention and duly discharged, only to die the same day while at his home.
The trio also ambushed villagers in Mpinve Forest in January and severely beat them using gun butts and machetes.
Rasta Nzeyimana, Sam Gombya, Seruvumba Faustine and other unnamed victims were badly injured.
The residents have since filed an assault case REF 11/23/01/2020 at Kanyogoga Police Post.
The gang leader Khalid Bikongolo was later arrested after residents pressured Mubende DPC, Julius Ahimbisibwe.
