Minister of Lands, Housing & Urban Development, Hon. Beti Kamya, says she is contemplating going for the Rubaga North MP seat in parliament.
Kamya made the revelation Saturday while attending the NRM delegates conference at Namboole stadium.
“Ours (Uganda Federal Alliance-UFA) is not really a party but an ideology of federalism,” she noted.
Kamya said she was organising with the NRM Secretary General so that members of the Uganda Federal Alliance join NRM officially.
“You can only do work if you are in government, that is why opposition members want to get into government.”
Kamya said it feels really good wearing yellow and is so happy.
“I am thinking of contesting for the Rubaga North constituency, I want to negotiate with my colleagues and see how we do it,” said the former President of opposition UFA.
The Rubaga North seat is currently occupied by Hon Moses Kasibante.
In the latest reshuffle, Kamya was moved from Kampala affairs to the lands ministry.
Hon. Amongi Betty, who was the minister of Lands, was appointed Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs to replace her.
