So far three people have been confirmed dead following the collapse of a building under construction around Madhvani village in Jinja (eastern Uganda).
The building located near Jinja secondary school caved in Wednesday with about 45 people inside it.
Uganda Red Cross is working with the police to support the rescue process.
Red Cross reported one fatality and dozens still trapped.
Police said rescue efforts by the Fire and Rescue Services still underway.
The force this morning said two people have so far been confirmed dead while eight have been injured and are currently undergoing treatment.
Four others escaped without any injuries.
In the evening, Red Cross said with the support of the police excavator, three more bodies were recovered from the building.
“Our teams are closely working with the Police to ensure decent process of dead body management.”
