Ruparelia Foundation, a charity arm of the Ruparelia Group, has today launched the construction of a community toilet in the ghetto slum of Kamwokya in Kawempe South Constituency represented by Hon Mubarak Munyagwa.
The foundation’s board of trustees led by Mama Jyostna Ruparelia, Rajiv Ruparelia, Naiya Ruparelia and Sheena Ruparelia launched the project Friday morning at good Samaritan Primary School with a call upon the community to keep hygiene in order to avoid contracting the diseases.
Over 50 million shillings that was realised from the recently concluded Royal Ascot Goats Races has been earmarked for this project.
The Managing Director of Ruparelia group who is also one of the trustees of the foundation, Rajiv Ruparelia, promised to continue giving a helping hand to the ghetto community.
He also promised further to build five modern toilet systems in each Kampala slum at least in the coming three years.
This project is spearheaded by Patrick Mavo of Ghetto Research Lab whose main strategy is to promote hygiene, clean safe water and a health environment in the ghettos of Kamwokya and Kampala district at large.
