Controversy as Fresh Kid’s dad drops manager Francis

Mutabaazi signing a contract with Francis in May

The latest gossip indicates that the parents of young rapper Patrick Ssenyonjo aka Fresh Kid have terminated his contract with manager Francis Kamoga of De Texas Management.

Documents issued by Onyango and Company advocates, who are acting on behalf of Paul Mutabaazi aka Fresh Daddy, ordered Kamoga to hand over Fresh Kid’s property.

Fresh Daddy who composed one song and quickly dropped out of music to start a saloon, claims Kamoga breached clause No.6 of the May 28, 2019 contract.

It is around this time that the first rumours about Fresh Kid sacking Kamoga appeared but the young rapper quickly dismissed them as untrue.

In a letter dated November 29, 2019, Fresh Daddy accuses Kamoga of failure to remit all the money that Fresh Kid makes from concerts.

The letter also quotes Fresh Kid’s mother Madrine Namate as having consented to the termination of the manager’s contract.

Still valid contract

Speaking on the development, Kamoga said they had already booked shows for Fresh Kid during the festive season which must be done.

He accused the singer’s parents of breaching a legitimate contract signed in the presence of Youth Minister Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.

He said their contract was supposed to run for five years, uninterrupted.

“I signed Fresh Kid not purposely to make money out of him but rather to uplift his talent,” he told BBS television.

According to Kamoga, the parents did not clearly stipulate what he had done wrong, noting that Fresh Daddy was always in the know of all their dealings.

“I have been going with him on the shows. He [Fresh Daddy] even said in an interview that he knows all phone numbers of the promoters which means he can ask them how much money we make per show.”

He denied misusing Fresh Kid’s earnings as the father claimed and called for a press conference at his Kawempe based offices tomorrow, Wednesday.

New manager?

Following the termination, Fresh Daddy went ahead and got his son a new manager under the label of MC Events.

The baby rapper’s former songwriter 14k Bwogo who accuses Kamoga of “selfishness”, will once again work with the toddler.

Bwogo said in a radio interview that Fresh Kid has been receiving only food and clothing from his talent and the rest was only being enjoyed by Kamoga.

As matters stand now, Bwogo will be writing songs for Fresh Kid once again.

While speaking with Spark TV, Fresh Kid said he was excited to work with Bwogo once more.
