Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially launched the campaign for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The launch was held at FUFA Headquarters in Kampala on Wednesday, 23rd October 2019 during a special press conference.
The campaign has been code named “366 Back to Namboole with Cranes”.
When Uganda Cranes host Malawi in the first home match at the Mandela National Stadium on 17th November 2019, it will exactly be 366 days since the Cranes won 1-0 over Cape Verde to book a successive berth back to the AFCON.
Therefore, this campaign name was derived from the fact that it will be exactly 366 days since the Cranes last played at home.
Ag. FUFA President Justus Mugisha, Uganda Cranes Head coach Jonathan McKinstry,Ag. FUFA 1st Vice President Darius Mugoye, FUFA Deputy CEO in charge of Football, Decolas Kiiza and the Chris Kalibala, FUFA Technical Development Committee Chairperson attended the launch, among others.
The campaign kick starts away from home in West Africa (Ouagadougou) against Burkina Faso on the 13th November 2019.
Cranes will fly to Ouagadougou for a game against Burkina Faso on 12/11/2019 aboard a chartered Uganda Airlines plane and return on 14/11/2019 for the return leg against Malawi scheduled for 17/11/2019.
Thirty seats have been reserved for interested fans willing to travel with team to Ouagadougou at only USD 1500.
