Tooro Kingdom has today celebrated 24th coronation anniversary of Omukama Oyo Nyimba, who is also the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) ambassador to Uganda.
On this day 12th September 1995, the Omukama of Tooro, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV ascended the Tooro Kingdom Throne and his coronation held on 17 April 2010 when he turned 18 years.
Today his Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, King of Tooro Kingdom, marks 24 years since was crowned the 12th Omukama of Tooro Kingdom at three-and-a-half years old on Tuesday the 12th of September 1995.
His Majesty officially closed the Health Camp at Buhinga Regional Referral Hospital at 10am.
His Majesty then officiated at the 3rd Phase of “Save River Mpanga Now” campaign by launching a Waste Management system along Banks of River Mpanga opposite Police Barracks near Buhinga Playground at 11am.
Empango Kutoma ha’Karuzika started at exactly 3pm.
