Leaders from Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] and Uganda People’s Congress [UPC] in Oyam and Kwania districts have tabled a resolution to support President Museveni as the sole presidential candidate in 2021 elections.
This happened on Thursday when the President was visiting Lango sub region, according to Nabusayi L. Wamboka, the presidential press secretary.
Museveni visited Oyam town council on his “Jobs and Wealth Creation” national campaign.
At Oyam district, he held a Zonal leaders meeting who included local councillors, sub county leaders and district leaders.
Nabusayi said the jubilating leaders broke into a dance, chanting, “we want more development”.
Hon. Ogwal Ojok, the ruling National Resistance Movement [NRM] Chairman for Oyam, Hon. Okello Onac UPC LCV chairman Kwania, Hon. Ogutu Brian LCV councillor and chairman FDC Oyam, Hon. Ouma Celestine LCV councillor UPC are behind the move.
The leaders said that although they don’t belong to NRM, they support great development efforts including infrastructure development and democracy.
They gave the president a shield, spear and a stool to symbolise power.
