The Committee on Physical Infrastructure Tuesday met a team from Ministry of Works and Transport presenting their Ministerial Policy Statement FY 2019/20.

Also present were the officials from Civil Aviation Authority, Uganda Airlines and Uganda Railway Corporation.

Civil Aviation Authority wants more land for the expansion of Entebbe Airport so that Uganda Airlines gets its own terminal.

They also propose that the passenger service charge/tax of 18% on every ticket be removed so that Entebbe Airport competes favourably with other Airports.

The Uganda Airlines aircraft has been registered by the Civil Aviation Authority and will come to Uganda on 23/4/2019.

Invitations for the Acceptance Ceremony have been sent out.

The recruitment of staff started in September last year and over 12,000 applications were received.
