Hon Angelline Asio Osegge has officially handed over to Hon. Nandala Mafabi as the new Chair of Public Accounts Committee [PAC].
Osegge is a female social worker and politician who serves as the incumbent Member of Parliament representing the Soroti District for the Forum for Democratic Change in the 10th Ugandan Parliament.
His replacement Mafabi, accountant, lawyer, and politician, is the FDC Secretary General who also represents Budadiri County West in Sironko District in the Ugandan parliament.
From May 2011 until January 2014, he was the leader of the opposition in the parliament.
While handing over the office at Parliament on Wednesday, Osegge thanked members for working tirelessly to ensure better performance of committee. She said that the issue of backlogs is almost no more for PAC Central Government.
PAC vice chairperson and Ntungamo Municipality MP Hon. Gerald Karuhanga thanked the outgoing PAC members for working tirelessly.
Karuhanga, also a lawyer, noted that even when the Executive does nothing on the reports from the committee, the work must continue.
He argued new committee members to work aggressively and serve the nation.
Hon. Mafabi, the new chair said he is ready to serve as the new committee members.
“We are ready to serve as the new committee members. I’m sure we shall not leave any backlogs.”
