Police in Isingiro district Monday recovered the body of a 14-year old Senior Two student of Bigyera Secondary School in Bisheshe sub county Ibanda District.
The deceased Peter Oscar Muhirwe was killed after his family failed to pay Shs7m ransom demanded by kidnappers.
The family only managed to raise Shs200,000, prompting the kidnappers to kill him and burry his body.
The late Muhirwe, a resident of Karindiriro cell, Kashangura ward Kagongo Division Ibanda Municipality went missing on Monday last week.
He was coming from shopping in Kaberebere town council where he was living with his uncle. He was preparing to go back to school.
The deceased’s body was found buried in a bush in Kyenyangi cell Kaberebere town council Isingiro district.
Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson, told edge.ug that four people who are allegedly to have been in connection with gruesome kidnap and murder have been arrested.
He identified the suspects as Kakuru Justus, Katungye and Twinomugisha Ronald who are currently detained at Isingiro Central Police Station.
According to Kasasira, the body of the deceased was taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital for a post-mortem.
Burial arrangements are on-going in Karindiriro, Kashangura.
