Mob beats ex-MP & BBS TV journalist Kaddu Mukasa

Mukasa admitted at Lubaga hospital

A mob on Sunday beat up Ssozi Kaddu Mukasa, a BBS television journalist for knocking a person on Nateete -Nakawuka road.

He was reportedly beaten by Boda Boda riders.

“Sadly, a mob gathered and terribly beat him up, knocked him to down, rolled him over,” said his friend, Mubiru James Woods.

Mubiru says he was just calling Mukasa on phone to wish him a Merry Christmas.

Another person who received the call told Mubiru about the accident.

“I notified DPC Katwe who connected me to DPC Nsangi and ensured Police intervention to rescue him.”

“He is just now at Nateete Police Station. Police is in process of towing his car to Nateete Police Station. He tells me he is in great pain.”

On Monday, Mubiru shared pictures of himself and Mukasa admitted at Lubaga hospital.

“It’s unfortunate the Boda Boda riders alongside the road attacked him and started mob justice against him.”

It was the police that intervened and later took him to Lubaga hospital.

Mubiru and Mukasa

A veteran journalist and personality Mukasa returned to the media industry this year after years in politics.

He once served as the Mityana South Member of Parliament in 2006 under the opposition party Democratic Party banner.

He now moderates a political weekly TV show airing every Saturday from 10pm to 12pm on BBS TV dubbed ‘Zimba Ensiyo’.

Mukasa was a pioneer at Bulange Mengo’s radio station 88.8 CBS since 1996 where his authoritative bass boosted the Luganda news bulletins.

He also hosted a weekend political show ‘Mambo Baado.

An accident in 2013 and a court petition against his election victory prematurely ended his second term as MP.
