Attorney General, William Byaruhanga, Thursday presented to Parliament an interim report on allegations of bribery against the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sam Kutesa.
Byaruhanga says he is investigating the bribery allegations against Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kutesa, as a result the report couldn’t be discussed.
The allegations of bribery against Kutesa involve Mr. Patrick Ho, a Chinese national who was indicted in the US for bribing foreign governments for business favours.
The Attorney General said he will provide a complete report in 6-8 weeks.
He told parliament that preliminary investigations indicate that Kutesa committed no crime in taking the money.
Kutesa received a $500,000 bribe from Chi Ping Patrick (of Hong Kong), who was convicted in the US for participating in a scheme to bribe top Chad/Ugandan officials.
