Uganda Tourism Board [UTB] says it is making preparations to receive Miss Uganda who is also Miss World Africa, Quiin Abenakyo, from abroad.
John Ssempebwa from UTB revealed this to the media at Uganda Media Centre on Tuesday.
“Uganda recently won at Miss World Competitions 2018 and we are organising to go and receive Quiin Abenakyo from abroad,” Ssempebwa said.
“She is now the Miss Africa and we are privileged to have got such great honour.”
Abenakyo is set to return back to Uganda this Wednesday from China where she took part in Miss World 2018 competitions.
She will be given an honourable welcome by Sheraton Hotel on Thursday.
Reports had circulated that Abenakyo will be assuming the role of Uganda tourism ambassador on return home.
Speaking on the matter, Ssempebwa said: “recently, we got Zari to market very beautiful places that Uganda has. As a result many youth got to know about tourist sites although some people didn’t agree with our choice.”
He said there are a lot of opportunities in tourism “so I urge all youth to join us”.
