Stable family makes stable nation-Muhoozi lauds airforce

Last Thursday, Uganda People’s Defence Air Force hosted CDFs end of year party at Entebbe cricket oval grounds.

The colourful ceremony was graced by Spouses, Officers, Air masters and children from Uganda Peoples Defence Air Force Entebbe under the theme “Stable Family: Afoundation of force efficiency and effectiveness”.

The CDF Gen David Muhoozi who was the chief guest, begun the day’s activities by inspecting the stalls manned by UPDAF and SFC soldier’s spouses.

He was motivated and inspired by the products exhibited and called upon them to work harder and transform their way of living.

The General was welcomed by Members of the Patriotism club of Airforce Secondary School Entebbe who participated in different kinds of entertainments with other groups.

Others were; Air Force Primary school, Sparrow entertainers, Air force secondary school, UPDAF spouses and SFC Spouses

In his welcome remarks the Chief of Staff Airforce (COS-AF) Brig James Birungi appreciated the strategic leadership for allowing UPDAF to host this year’s children’s party.

He acknowledged the work done by the committee in making sure the function is colourful.

In his remarks the CDF informed the guests especially the UPDF fraternity and their spouses that the party was a good cause and that the function is now an annual event which was started by his predecessor Gen Katumba Wamala.

He appreciated all the arrangements done by the committee and promised much support to ensure the end state is achieved.

“This is the best party so far I have attended, congratulations to UPDAF for this arrangement,” he observed.

He further quoted a statement by HE Gen Yoweri Museveni where he said “a stable family makes a stable society and in the end a stable nation”.

He emphasized that the theme for the day was in line with the words of the president and encouraged the UPDF to have stable families that makes their duty performance effective and efficient.

This can be achieved by having children and spouses knowing God and doing the right thing even when their husbands are duty bound.

The CDF acknowledged the good Job done by the UPDF spouses while their husbands are at work.

He contributed 5 million shillings to the entertaining groups who made the function more colourful and encouraged the parents and schools where the groups come from to work selflessly and make them great men and women in future.

The General called for a moment of silence in prayer for those who perished in a boat cruise on Lake Victoria recently and sent his condolences to those who lost their dear ones.

He wished the UPDF officers, men, spouses and the entire countrymen and women a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.

The CDF later launched Sports activities that included Football and Netball with Airforce children playing against SFC children in the respective games.

SFC children worn in football with 5 goals to 2 for the Airforce children, while Airforce girls worn SFC girls in net ball.

The function was concluded by giving out gifts to children who excelled in different areas of sporting. While a cake was cut in their honour.

The party was characterized by lots of eats, drinks, singing, dancing, poems, acrobats, sports, bouncing castles for children as they celebrated the end of year 2018.

In attendance was; the Deputy Commander Airforce Maj Gen Gavas Mugenyi, the Commander Air Defence Maj Gen Sam Okiding, Camp Comdt Brig Kakari, Comander SFC Brig Don Nabasa, RDC Entebbe Hadji Noor Njuki Mbabali, Ass town clerk Entebbe Local leaders, Religious leaders, Officers and men of UPDF among others.
