Security Minister, Elly Tumwine, was forced to defend himself on Tuesday when Lwemiyaga County MP Hon Theodore Ssekikubo accused him of colluding in a land grabbing scandal.
Speaking on the floor of parliament, Ssekikubo said Tumwine undermined court judgments that favoured Geoffrey Makumbi against Moses Mushabe in a land dispute in Lwemiyaga.
Hon Ssekikubo also alleges that the security minister, Tumwine ordered the arrest and detention of Dr. Elly Muhumuza, the LC5 chairperson, Ssembabule district, at Jinja road police station on account of breach of a quarantine regulations.
In his defence, Gen Tumwine said his involvement in this matter is very recent.
The President received complaints from residents of Lwemiyaga about a case resulting in a murder arising out of an eviction on the estate of the Late Joshua Kaleba where one Mandela Tindimureka was shot dead, he explained.
Gen Tumwine instead accused Hon Ssekikubo of involvement in land grabbing cases in Lwemiyaga.
Ssekikubo requested for a rebuttal on the accusations made against him but Speaker Rebecca Kadaga advised him to prepare an official statement to Parliament.
