Engineer Mubiru Kitaka has been appointed acting executive director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
Kampala Minister Beti Kamya who announced the appointment also named Samuel Sserunkuuma the deputy executive director.
Kitaka will fill the vacant position left by Jennifer Musisi who resigned in October and handed over the office last week.
Kitaka has substantively been the Director Engineering and Technical Services at KCCA since 2011.
In a statement, Kamya said Kitaka will ensure continuity and smooth running of the city.
Kamya said Kitaka and Sserunkuuma will serve in acting until President Yoweri Museveni appoints the ED and KCCA directors.
Kitaka replaced Dr Judith Tukahirwa as acting deputy executive director in 2016.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Makerere University and a Master’s degree in Road and Transportation Engineering from IHE/Delt University in the Netherlands.
