Ministry of Works engineers who are attempting to pull the MV Templar wreckage out of Lake Victoria water are complaining of a “clueless” Kampala socialite Bryan White for commanding them during the operation.

The socialite is reportedly funding the operation, according to The Observer.

However, police denied that socialite Bryan White is funding the retrieving mission.

“He only came with 4 divers from KK beach,” says police spokesperson Zurah Ganya.

Bryan White born Brian Kirumira who is the founder of the Bryan White Foundation in 2017 in order to establish a real way to support youth and to inspire a culture of financial empowerment, enterprise and entrepreneurialism in the Ugandan youths, Bryan White has been stationed at Mutima Beach since news of the boat cruise tragedy broke out.

While mobilising the locals, he went on to pledge Shs10,000 for each dead body as a way of getting the job done in a short time.

The Uganda Police Force has come out to applause the humanitarian for his selfless works.

“Special thanks also go to Mr Kirumira Brian a.k.a Brian White of the Brian White Foundation, Hajj Yusuf Matovu aka YOUMA, Ministry of Works, district leadership, local council chairman, Uganda Railways, Mango tree ship, ministries and other government agencies,” Ganyana said in a press release.

With the help of MV Kalangala, the rescue team has managed pull out part of the wreckage.

According to Afande Asuman Mugyenyi, the next step will be towing it, either to the surface of Mutima beach or to deeper waters with help of MV Kalangala towards Port Bell.

According to The Observer, ‘Plan A’ of pulling the wreckage using tractors ashore has failed after the wires yet again snapped twice today.
