American gospel singer-songwriter and actor, Micah Keith Stampley, is in Uganda to honour Prophet Elvis Mbonye of Zoe Ministries.

The Saturday colourful event was attended by friends and partners of Zoe Ministries at Zoe grounds in Lugogo.

Born in Los Angeles, California, United States, Micah in March 2005 became the second male gospel artist to have a high debut on the Billboard’s chat when his first album, The Songbook of Micah, debuted at number three of Billboard’s chart.

The Lugogo event was kicked off by a moment of praise and worship as Micah performed some of his songs like “Our God”, “Be lifted” and “Heaven on Earth” among others.

Zoe Ministries choir followed with songs of praise at the function to honour the self-styled prophet.

“It is my first time to be in Uganda and it is absolutely beautiful,” Micah said as he stepped on the stage to entertain the congregation.

The main celebrant [Mbonye] arrived sometime towards 10:00pm with the usual pomp.

Mbonye then greeted the American gospel artist with a huge, warm hug.  Micah is accompanied by his wife and their producer.

After greeting the guests, Prophet Mbonye sat on a sofa seat and enjoyed the moment.

Edwin Ruyonga and his group entertained the congregation before Mbonye could take to the stage.

Ruyonga is one of the most influential Ugandan Hip Hop artists known for his albums like “Voice of My Father” and “Glory Fire”.
