Protests broke out in Jinja town on Thursday after Kyadondo East legislator, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, was re-arrested just outside court.
Gulu court martial terminated gun possession charges against Bobi Wine and set him free, only to be re-arrested by police shortly after.
He was rushed to Gulu chief magistrates court, charged with treason and remanded to Gulu main prison until August 30, 2018.
The action saw youth in Jinja turn violent and burn flammables in roads.
They are also demanding the release of their MP Paul Mwiru [Jinja East], jointly charged with Bobi Wine, Gerald Karuhanga [Ntungamo Municipality] and Arua Municipality MP-elect Kassiano Wadri.
Youth gathered along Kirinya road and started burning tyres before they were waved off by rains and security deployment.
Military and Police motorised and foot patrols are currently patrolling Jinja town.
