BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo has dedicated his latest award to singing MP Bobi Wine who is incarcerated at Makindye military barracks.
Kenzo on Saturday August 18, emerged winner of the Performing Arts category at the Young Achievers Awards 2018 that took place at Serena Hotel Kampala.
“I am humbled and honoured at the same time excited to receive the Young Achievers Award in the performing Arts Category,” he said on social media.
“The award comes at a time when I will be celebrating 10 years in the industry and as a receipt of this award; it’s an honour to pay tribute to all you gallant men and women who have made this milestone a reality.”
Kenzo said even though this award has his name on it, it stands for the united spirit in everyone.
“Therefore, I would like to dedicate this award to honour our fellow Ugandan and fellow musician H. E Bobi Wine. One wise man said, Youth are the solution — not the problem! Nothing about us without us is for us.”
The Young Achievers Awards was attended by Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto and hosted by Anita Fabiola, Crystal Newman, Malaika Nyanzi, among others.
