Opposition leader, Kizza Besigye, has been arrested at Isingiro-Ntungamo border.
Police cornered Besigye at Isingiro-Ntungamo border Monday where he was scheduled to address a gathering of opposition supporters at Kajaho playground in Kikagate Sub County.
He was intercepted at a police checkpoint in Ruborogota.
According to Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] members who spoke us, police are driving the retired colonel to an unknown destination.
Other reports say he has been taken to Rukungiri Police Station and detained.
Moses Muzima, the Isingiro District Police Commander, accuses Besigye of trying to hold an illegal assembly contrary to the public order and management act.
The FDC strongman has been touring the districts upcountry to sensitise masses on land reforms.
Also arrested are; Stanley Katembeya, the Western Region FDC Party Chairman and Eric Baino, the Secretary for mobilisation and the Elderly.
The duo was picked from Kajaho market and their documents containing the day’s program confiscated.
