Kawempe North parliamentary candidate, Muhammad Ssegirinya on Monday resorted to unconventional means of survival after police lobbied teargas at him.
Ssegirinya was in National Unity Platform candidate Robert Kyagulanyi’s convoy headed to Buikwe district.
Police blocked the procession and fired teargas at them.
Ssegirinya was forced to use his socks as an emergency measure to wipe teargas off his face.
Bobi Wine’s supporters were several hours on Monday engaged in running battles with security operatives who tried to disperse them as they enforced electoral guidelines issued to prevent further spread of Coronavirus.
Bobi Wine was heading to Buikwe and Mukono districts to look for votes ahead of 2021 presidential election.
Security operatives at Nagalama (Mukono District) and Lugazi town (Buikwe District) were forced to use teargas to disperse the MP’s supporters.
