President Museveni has challenged Ugandans on the issue of age and ideology.
“The homosexuals in Europe are young. Are you going to support the homosexuals because they are young?” Museveni to NRM leaders of Bukedi who had converged at Mt Elgon view primary school grounds Saturday.
“People taking drugs are young. Are we also going to take drugs such that you can support us?” He wondered.
He said people waste alot of time talking but words of NRM is working.
President Museveni has been a solution to the mistakes made by the previous governments, NRM said.
“He is not just any other common leader, but a revolutionary leader.”
“Let us ignore these jokers and concentrate on the message of NRM because that is what is going to work,” Museveni urged Bukedi leaders.
Earlier, he said being a useful youth was not about biology (age) but ideology.
He said one can be young and confused yet another can be old and clear-headed.
National Unity Platform candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine who seemed to be the target of these remarks, noted:
“The future of Uganda is it’s young people. They must be listened to and their outcries must be made priority.”
He said in the New Uganda, the youth will be priority for investment especially in education, health care and skills.
“Everyone must be involved and respected.
