“There is no opposition in Uganda which I cannot defeat,” President Museveni has revealed.
He said they have no track record of what they have done on national issues.
“So what are they opposing? I don’t see a group that has got a correct position in the politics of Uganda today that can defeat NRM,” Museveni said while campaigning in Busoga region.
Addressing a rally in Kapchorwa on Friday, Museveni said:
“I was going for a meeting like this, they told me that something (protests) was happening in Kampala and that I should ring there and also stop my campaigns.”
“I said I won’t interrupt my plans with that nonsense. I said they will handle them.”
The president noted that he was sure no one can disorganise Uganda because “I know we have a strong army”.
Museveni was speaking to NRM leaders in Sebei sub region during his first campaign meeting in Kapchorwa town.
“We are not in a biological lab to talk about age; young fish or old fish. We are talking about solving issues of Ugandans,” he defended his age.
“You’ve been seeing in the US elections; the clash of views of people.”
Museveni said it is a clash of ideas, of plans, and not biology.
“You can be young and confused. You can be old and confused, you can be young and clear head, or you can be old and clear head.”
He said under the leadership of the NRM government, democracy has deepened and blossomed to full maturity, to the extent that anyone can now dream to lead Uganda.
