The national army on Saturday deployed masked men wielding sticks in Nakasongola town.
National Unity Platform candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine was campaigning in the district.
Security trucks with number plates hidden were spotted following Hon Kyagulanyi’s campaign team.
They dropped military officers who allegedly beat up NUP supporters who stood by the roadside to wave to NUP presidential flag bearer.
“They have their faces covered so as not to be identified while they commit atrocities to the citizens,” NUP said.
The soldiers in full military fatigues stopped people from pouring into roads to curtail Bobi Wine’s processions.
