Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago is currently admitted at Aga Khan hospital in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
The Lord Mayor was diagnosed with acute anaphylaxis which became persistent on treatment.
While he is not in a critical condition, doctors found it advisable to conduct further examinations and management.
Following this advice, the Lord Mayor departed Tuesday for Nairobi where he arrived safely and has since commenced the necessary medical procedures.
“The Office of the Lord Mayor appreciates the overwhelming concerns and sympathies,” deputy mayor Doreen Nyanjura said in a statement.
“We hope for his quick recovery and return to Kampala.
The office said Lukwago is currently undergoing treatment due to respiratory complications occasioned by an acute anaphylaxis.
The Lord Mayor was referred to Agakhan Hospital in Nairobi to have his condition further handled by Pulmonogists.
There are a few Pulmonogists in the country and also, the requisite equipment to handle his situation weren’t available.
He has so far undergone all the preliminary tests as the experts continue to monitor his condition.
“Let us keep him in our prayers for full recuperation.”
