Presidential hopefully Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine on Tuesday rallied the people of Bundibugyo for support promising them a chocolate factory.
“Even before we achieve the election victory, I am happy that we are achieving something very important,” he said in Bundibugyo town.
“We are succeeding in exposing the impunity and cowardice of the Museveni’s regime.”
He said all along Museveni has been claiming to be popular in the countryside until he met his match – ‘Our Generation’.
“He is now panicking and unleashing all manner of brutality, ordering the police and military to block us from accessing the towns and cities from as far as 20kms away.”
“Unfortunately for him, the thirst for change is stronger than the fear of brutality.”
He said people are walking very long distances to come and listen to our message of freedom and am sure they are helping in spreading the message back to those who fail to access the campaign venues.
Bobi Wine arrived at around 1:00 pm at the agreed venue Kirumya trading center, Ntotoro sub-county amidst tight security.
While speaking to his supporters, he promised to construct a cocoa factory that processes chocolate since cocoa is the main cash crop in Bundibugyo district.
“The factory and the other things like roads, good hospitals, good schools, and water will be possible if you tick the umbrella on January 14, 2021, and all these have not been possible in Bundibugyo because the current president looks at us as slaves,” he said.
“I am not here as a politician or a military general, I am here to represent the common people, the youth, and the ghetto people who are always on the streets of this country.”
He told his supporters that the tribal conflicts that marred Bundibugyo district were caused by the government as a way of divide and rule.
