Meanwhile, the Presidential Address that was scheduled for 7pm today has been cancelled to a new date that will be announced.

Bobi Wine’s address comes shortly after spending nights at Nalufenya police station.
His arrest sparked riots that left dozens injured and nearly 50 people dead.
Buganda Prime Minister Owek. Peter Mayiga spoke out against the bloodbath that is going on in our country.
“It is such a dark season for our country,” he said.
“As Hon. Kyagulanyi spends another night under illegal detention, we call upon all supporters to remain firm and strong even in the face of incredible violence by the state. Also, as Hon. Kyagulanyi has persistently told us, we should be assertive in our demands but at the same time be non-violent! The violent actions by the regime should not provoke us into violence! Our non-violent struggle will surely bear fruit.”

Meanwhile, NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi said for the fourth day in a row, police officers have been going to his place of residence, interrogating the askari and causing unnecessary panic.
“Uganda Police, if you have any issue against me, do let me know and I’ll come face you. Stop behaving stealthily!” he noted.
