Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has been nominated to run for another term.
Lukwago who is running on the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket, Wednesday graced Kampala Regional Electoral Commission offices in Ntinda.
He arrived amidst scuffles, teargas, and running battles between his supporters and police.
Lukwago castigated police for highhandedness and selective application of the law.
He said police mounted roadblocks to bar his supporters from escorting him to the venue.
Kyambogo-Ntinda road in Kampala was closed by police.
“Our mission ahead for a planned, livable and sustainable City begins today,” he said.
“Accountable leadership remains one of those core values I dearly espouse and seek to uphold,” he added.
