I refused to join Bobi Wine, says Anite


A section of NRM MPs led by Hon Anite Evelyn who lost in the party primaries have Wednesday addressed the press at Parliament regarding the same.

Junior Investment minister Anite says that they
have formed “NRM Reorganization Team”.

The team aims to reconcile aggrieved members and mobilise for President.

“I call upon the “Majje” (army) to execute it’s mandate of protection of life and property, prevention and detection of crime, keeping law and order, and maintenance of overall Security and Public Safety in Uganda impartially,” she said.

“This morning, together with my fellow MPs held a presser to unveil to the nation our plans for an intense countrywide mobilization effort to garner more support for both our mass party and H.E Museveni as well as
hold a drive to reconcile party members across,” she later tweeted.

Anite lost the Koboko Municipality NRM MP flag to Dr Charles Ayume.

Offer to join Bobi Wine

Anite says that she has been approached to join National Unity Platform (NUP) by some of her allies, but turned down the offer.

She emphasizes that there is no other party in principle that can be compare to NRM.

“Lina Zedriga the Vice President of NUP has reached out to me…..”

Anite has confirmed that she will NOT be vieing for MP Koboko Municipality in the coming general elections.

She says that there are other 14 NRM MPs (who lost in the Party primaries) that have confirmed that they will not standing for the same positions.

Anite, Hon. Tusiime Michael, Hon. Kinyamatama, Hon. Oryem together with other 10 MPs who lost in the NRM party primaries have resolve NOT to contest as independents in the up coming general elections.

The MPs say they will focus on mobilising votes for the president.
