The national army has warned political aspirants against misuse of security guards.

Army spokesperson Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso in a Tuesday statement said MPs who got escorts for their personal security last year are now misusing the soldiers ahead of 2021 elections.

She said this is contrary to the reason they were given those soldiers.

They are being involved in violence against contending political groups.

The army will thus withdraw the soldiers if it’s discovered that they are being misused in that manner.
