Government has introduced $65 (Shs240,500) coronavirus testing fee.
It will be paid by truck drivers at the points of entry, individuals seeking to know their Covid19 status, organisations (both government and private), Ugandans returning from abroad and foreign visitors entering the country.
This is contained in a statement issued Sunday by Godfrey Sseremba on behalf of Permanent Secretary Diana Atwine.
He says the money will be used to buy more test kits for continued access to testing services across the country.
However, government will continue offering free testing services for:
Patients with Covid19 symptoms, contacts of positive patients, front line health workers, community samples etc.
