President Museveni and First Lady Janet will host religious leaders at State House Entebbe today (Saturday).
They will lead the country in prayers against the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It is a public holiday and I urge the country to join us in prayer,” Museveni said.
A certain Ugandan told Museveni that God had told him in a vision that he should organise National Prayers, scientifically organised, for God to deliver the country from COVID 19.
“Therefore, by the powers given to the President of Uganda by Section 2(2) of the Public Holidays Act, I declare the 29th of August 2020, a day of National Prayers and a Public Holiday,” he announced.
“Stay in your houses or Compounds and pray.”
The prayers will be live on radios and TVs.
