Lockdown fear as Museveni addresses nation this week

President Museveni

President Museveni will this week address the nation on the status of Covid19 pandemic in the country.

He made the announcement Thursday night while addressing NRM delegates at the close of Central Executive Committee [CEC] elections.

Some idiots go on saying there is no Coronavirus, fumed President Museveni: “I hear there is a one Zaake [Mityana Municipality MP Hon Francis Zaake] who goes on saying there is no Coronavirus. We will discuss these enemies of the people in the task force meeting.”

Museveni said Kampala people who are big-headed, listen to those who tell them lies.

“They are now leading with cases. I will address the nation next week,” he noted.

He said some people have been joking with this problem of Coronavirus.

On Saturday, the minister of Health announced 318 new cases and Kampala being among those leading with high numbers.

So far, the country has recorded 20 Covid19 deaths.

There have been fears that President Museveni will reinstate the countrywide lockdown.

Works and Transport minister Gen Katumba Wamala said they would consider banning taxis and bodas again citing non-adherence to SOPs issued by the ministry of Health.

“Lockdown doesn’t stop you from doing things but you do them in a nice way,” Museveni said Thursday.

“We have to take drastic measures against idiots. We aren’t going to lose people because of idiots, the greedy ones.”
