IUIU guild crosses to FDC as party denies 200 defections to NRM
On Monday afternoon, Mr. Werunga Yusuf, the Guild President of Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) Main campus- Mbale, defected from NRM to FDC.
He was received by National Youth Leader Mulindwa Walid Lubega who handed him Party membership card, Party paraphernalia like; Constitution and Policy Agenda.
“The FDC Party welcomes him with open hands,” the party said.
The party then denied losing 200 delegates to the ruling NRM party.
Media reports had said the 200 quit FDC in Tororo district and handed over their party cards to the area MP Frederick Angura.
“Whether paid or not, NBS is expected to counter check lies before they are posted on their official handles,” FDC lashed out.
“FDC that was registered on 16th December 2004 (15 years ago) and somebody claims to have supported FDC 25 years ago (probably by 1995) before even return of Multi party politics in the Country and you publish such?”
It added: “Should such simple lies also require rocket science for a big media house like NBS Television?”
