Government may consider halting public transport again after finding out that vehicles, especially taxis and boda bodas are no longer following the set guidelines.
The Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, broke the news in a tweet on his official handle expressing fear of increasing community cases.
“Fellow Ugandans, it has come to my attention that some taxi operators and motorists are not obeying the COVID19 guidelines in place,” Katumba said on Monday.
“With the increasing cases of community transmission, we may be forced to halt public transport.”
Uganda now has a total of 15 Covid19 deaths with two registered on Sunday.
On Saturday and Sunday, the country registered 64 and 60 new cases respectively.
