Today, the president of the National Unity Platform Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine with great honor officially unveiled six national leaders of the National Unity Platform.
These are; Dr. Lina Zedriga Waru (Deputy President, North), Hon. Jolly Mugisha (Deputy President- West), Hon. Mathias Mpuuga (Deputy President- Central) and Hon. John Baptiste Nambeshe (Deputy President- East), Mr. David Lewis Rubongoya (Secretary General) and Ms. Aisha Kabanda (Deputy Secretary General).
“The struggle is well positioned to have you comrades,” he said at the unveiling ceremony held in Kamwokya, Kampala.
He also officially welcomed a number of leaders including MPs and leaders at different levels into the National Unity Platform.
They are; Hon Betty Nambooze (Mukono Municipality), Hon Mathias Mpuugga (Masaka Municipality),
Hon Muwanga Kivumbi (Butambala), Hon Medard Lubega Ssegona ( Busiro East), Hon Allan Ssewayana ( Makindye East), Hon Joseph Ssewungu Gonzaga (Kalungu), Hon Moses Kasibante ( Rubaga North), Hon Ssempala Kigozi (Makindye Ssabagabo), Hon Veronica Nanyondo (Bukomansimbi South), Hon Robinah Ssentongo (Kyotera) and Hon Florence Namayanja (Bukoto County East).
This officially brings the total number of legislators who have joined NUP to 17 MPs.
Other leaders included Dr Abed Bwanika, Hon Lubega Mukaku, Mr Kidandala Sulaiman, Mr Matia Lwanga Bwanika, Chairperson of Wakiso district and many more other comrades.
“Today has been an incredible day!” Bobi Wine said.
“We received over one hundred eminent leaders into the National Unity Platform.”
“What an honour to receive these leaders”
He went on: “Today also, we paid our respects to our fallen comrades, who paid the ultimate price for the freedom of this nation. May we all continue to pray that their souls rest in peace. May we never betray their memory.”
Bobi told the leaders that they have a duty to work even harder for the redemption of the motherland.
“Freedom is surely in sight.”
