Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo was last Friday admitted at Nakasero hospital in Kampala.
The Uganda Media Centre boss is battling diabetes.
“With my relatives Pr. Hannington Opondo, his wife Jackie, and my daughters May & Alice at Nakasero Hospital where l was admitted Friday with diabetes,” he confirmed in a tweet.
“My condition is stabilizing.”
Several friends, relatives and government officials have been streaming into the hospital to check on Opondo.
Some of those include; Brig Gen. Richard Karemire, Geoffrey Kamuntu, NBS TV boss Kin Kariisa and his wife Jullie.
“Im making good progress,” Opondo told his visitors.
“I want to thank all thee yee who have extended empathy and wishing me quick recovery from an aggressive diabetes just setting in (last 3 months) my life.”
“Am receiving good care at Nakasero Hospital since Friday.”
Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah, African Union advisor Michael Katungi, prisons spokesperson Frank Baine, Judiciary spokesperson Jacob Siminyu and High Court Advocate Mary Ann Kasule, also visited.
“Good morning friends. My health continue to recover steadly,” Opondo tweeted on Tuesday.
He was also visited by Gender minister Frank Tumwebaze and NRM deputy secretary general Richard Todwong.
