Singer Pius Mayanja aka Pallaso has spoken out on why he escaped police arrest Wednesday night.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said they tried to arrest the musician at around 12:46am in Makindye division.
Police recieved a disturbace call from residents of Luwafu zone after Pallaso gathered a group of over 30 people at his home, playing loud music, drinking and not following the safety guidelines issued by the ministry of health on curfew and public gatherings.
The group became violent something that prompted Police to arrest Pallaso and Henry Kasozi.
However during the arrest of Kasozi, Pallaso whisked away with police handcuffs on him.
In his defence, Pallaso said the police used excessive force and fired bullets at his friends.
“Uganda police, we are all Ugandans and we are all affected by this pandemic differently,” he said on social media.
Pallaso said using excessive force and shooting bullets at unarmed fellow brothers and sisters is making him lose all hope.
“Enough is enough,” he said, sharing the video of the scuffle.
