Police sieges NBS, arrests & forces politicians to sleep in studios

MP Nambooze and Barometer guests leaving NBS offices in the morning

Security forces Tuesday night placed NBS offices in Kamwokya, Kampala under siege.

Management of the station said they tried to get a reason from security but all in vain.

Officers then intercepted and arrested former government spy Charles Rwomushana and Kabula County Legislator James Kakooza.

They had just appeared on “Barometer” programme on NBS TV which airs every Tuesday alongside Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze, FDC spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda and National Unity Platform member Fred Nyanzi.

The duo was later set free while police surrounded the station waiting for Nganda, Nambooze and Nyanzi.

Police mounted roadblocks around NBS TV offices in Kamwokya.

Cars in and out of NBS offices were carefully checked.

The guests, producer, and host were forced to sleep in the studios and only left the offices at 6:00am.
