Police has Tuesday besieged Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] offices in Najjanankumbi, along Entebbe Road.
This was after the party officially welcomed Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago to register as a party member.
The opposition party was also launching the FDC Electoral Platform 2021-2026 when the officers took over the premises.
It is not clear why the police surrounded the party’s head offices.
Earlier, Party President Patrick Amuriat said anyone who dismisses FDC makes a mistake.
“To Erias Lukwago, welcome to this family (FDC). You came to where you belong, welcome to FDC. This is your home, and to my friends of FDC, a high-quality person has joined us.”
Amuriat said today many organizations and groups have been infiltrated by the dictator.
“Here in the FDC, we saw them and told them they didn’t have good intentions for the party.”
He thanked Lukwago for honouring FDC by appointing Doreen Nyanjura as his deputy mayor.
“I don’t know if you (Erias Lukwago) are going to be the Lord Mayor, the president, time will tell us. As a party, we shall continue to support you in all ways.”
