The NRM Secretariat under the leadership of Rt Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba Friday addressed the Media on the approved party Electoral Roadmap that was agreed upon and approved by the Central Executive Committee that sat yesterday Thursday 16th, July 2020 at State House Entebbe.
Present were Members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) , The Deputy Secretary General, The Deputy National Treasurer, The Chairman Electoral Commission-NRM, the NRM Secretariat Directors among other Party leaders.
The Chairman NRM Electoral Commission, Dr Tanga Odoi, released the party Electoral Roadmap for the Elections of NRM Party Structures and Flag Bearers 2020/2021-2024/2026.
He said from 15th, 16th, 17th, the party has been issuing out forms for Special Interest Groups (SIG) elections which will take place later this month.
“I want to state we have now reviewed and appointed NRM registrars also known as District Election officers like Sub-county registrars, village registrars, parish registrars. We are very ready for the task,” said Hon. Tango Odoi Hon.
According to him, from 20th -21st July 2020 will be capacity building and training of all officials at district Sub-county in line with COVID19.
“I have the pleasure to announce that on 20th-22nd July 2020 the following senior leaders of the party will pick no nomination forms.”
They include; 1) Presidential Flagbearer, 2)NRM National Chairperson, 3)First National Vice chairman and 4)second National Vice chairperson (Female).
At the village level, NRM is going to elect and get 1,300,006 leaders as Flag bearers indicating that as other political parties start with zero “us we have 1,300,006 voters”.
He said from 23rd-31st, the following important politicians will pick forms for nomination or get them online through the system they are going establish.
- members of parliament 2), Lc5 chairpersons while 24th July 2020 will be a polling day for Special Interest Group (SIG).
“We are going to conduct these elections in all villages. From 27th -28th July, we shall them nominate Presidential Flag bearers.”
