The minister for Kampala Betty Amongi has extended Eng. Andrew Kitaka’s term of office as the acting Kampala Capital City Authority [KCCA] Executive Director.
Amongi cited the existing gap awaiting the completion of the Public Service Commission process hence allowing Kitaka to continue doing his current job.
“Considering that the office of the executive director is crucial for overall coordination of various directorates, I have assigned your duties of the Executive Director in the interim as we wait for the appointment of a substantive Executive Director,” she wrote in her June 25 letter.
Kitaka stood in following the resignation of Jennifer Musisi in 2018.
His previous six-month contract extension expired on June 15, 2020.
Dorothy Kisaka, the governance advisor in the office of the Prime Minister, is the appointed Executive Director and will take over once confirmed by the Public Service Commission.
